Missing Assignments Index

To indicate a student has not turned in an assignment, use the Special Mark defined on the page. To list missing assignments for each student, print a "" report or send and select the "List missing assignments only" option.

Note: Blanks are not considered "missing". A blank score simply means the assignment has not been graded yet. (This lets you list upcoming assignments without hurting students' grades.)

When you are done grading an , click the "Fill" button to mark any remaining blanks as missing (this is a shortcut for the "Fill blanks" menu).

Note: Zeros are not considered "missing" either. A zero indicates the assignment was turned in with a failing grade, but not missing.

Note: For rubrics, missing assignments do not affect the grade like they typically do for traditional grades. This is because rubrics are typically used for assessing skills, and a missing assignment cannot be assessed, so it is simply not calculated, like an excused assignment. If you want it to affect the (rubric) grade, score it as a 1 (or whatever your lowest rubric is) — but this means it won't be listed on reports as missing.

Parents can receive automated email alerts whenever any assignment is missing. They will continue to receive alerts as long as the assignment is still marked missing, so you may want to change the score to zero or a different mark after it is too late to turn in.
