Grades that "Don't Count" Index

There are several ways to give grades that don't count toward the total. If this applies to the everyone in the class, options include:

Worth Zero Points — Create an and set the "Worth" to 0 points.

Zero Category Weight — Select "Weighted Categories" on the page, and create a Category with zero weight. The Category will still have a subtotal grade, but that will not count toward the total grade.

Zero Cumulative Weight — Set the cumulative option to "Weighted average..." on the page, and set a grade to zero weight. The grading period will still have a grade, but it will not count toward the cumulative grade. This is one way to handle non-academic grades on report cards, like Citizenship or Effort.

If this applies to just one or some students, options include:

Special Marks — Use a Special Mark from the page where the value is undefined ( - ), or any Special Mark if you're using Rubrics.

Note: It ignores any score or mark it doesn't recognize, so that can be another way to type grades that don't count.

Drop Low Scores — Click the "Drop" button on the , , or page to automatically drop the lowest scores. More

If this applies to the entire class or subject:

Zero Units — Set the Units to 0 for the class/subject so it doesn't affect the GPA.
