Citizenship, Effort, etc. Index

Your Report Cards may include non-academic grades for Citizenship, Effort, or anything you want.

For Traditional Report Cards

Admin: To setup custom grade columns, go to the page. These are defined the same way you define grading periods. (You don't need to define a grade scale.)

Teacher: Go to the page to enter grades. You can type any grade; you don't have to use the grade marks on your Setup Grading Options page.

Alternatively you can create a new gradebook just for Citizenship, Effort, or whatever it's called. Then define the grade scale on the page, and create assignments. See Grades that don't count to ensure these do not affect your academic grades.

For Standards-based Report Cards

Admin: To setup custom grade rows, go to the page. Add Citizenship, Effort, etc. as an objective. If it is subject-specific, such as Effort in Math, put it in the Math standards, otherwise put it in general standards like Personal Skills. (Be sure to use the Objective column so that it's not just a bold Label.)

Teacher: To enter grades for students:

1.  Create a New Assignment.
2.  Click the checkbox for Citizenship, Effort, etc.
3.  If you want this to count toward the total grade, enter grades like any other assignment, otherwise see Grades that don't count.
