Troubleshooting Printing Problems Index

The report doesn't fit on the page; pages are clipped at the edge

•  Check your Browser Settings to make sure it isn't wasting space with its own margins, header and footer.

•  If the "Layout" menu is "Landscape", make sure the Page Setup is set to Landscape too.

•  Set the "Text size" menu to something smaller.

•  Reduce the number of columns per page (applicable for only some reports).

The white rectangle in the background shows you the paper width, so you can preview if the report is going to fit or not.

The colored bars/boxes are not printing

•  Check your Browser Settings to make sure it is set to print background colors.

•  Make sure your printer isn't running out of color ink or toner.

•  Try changing the menu from "Color" to "Grayscale", especially when printing on a laser printer.

Some pages are blank, or nothing prints

•  Firefox has a printing bug where the second page of reports is blank. There is no workaround, so use Internet Explorer or Safari instead.

•  Some browsers or printers choke on large print jobs, so try printing in smaller batches — e.g., print report cards for each grade level separately, rather than the whole school at once.
