Attendance Index  

Teachers use the page to take attendance online. (Alternatively you can a blank roll sheet to take attendance by hand.) For online attendance:

•  You can enter roll on either the seating chart or the roll sheet.

•  Click a student's name to mark them Absent for the current date. Click again for Tardy, and again for Present. Or click the legend on the right to select any attendance code.

•  Click the "All Present Today" button to mark all students Present. (If you just leave it blank, it's not counted as a school day.)

•  The first two columns show how many times the student has been Absent and Tardy for the grading period selected in the menu (which is not necessarily the same as the weeks displayed on the page).

•  To correct an earlier date, just click the mark to switch between Absent, Tardy, and Present, or click the legend.

•  When the date column is dim, that means it's not considered a class day, or it's a future date with no records yet — e.g., T/Th will remain dim if there are attendance records only for M/W/F. Click the date column to make it dim or un-dim.

•  You can grant your TA's limited access to take attendance for you, and optionally prevent them from seeing students' attendance records. On the page, grant them access to "Attendance" or "Scores & Assignments" so they can mark students Present, Absent, or Tardy for the current day only. Grant them access to "Print & See Grades" or higher to edit any date and use all attendance codes.

•  You may your attendance records, or select "Blank" in the "Show" menu to print a blank roll sheet to take attendance by hand.

•  Your admin defines the attendance codes and sets whether you take attendance daily or every period. Some attendance codes may be set or changed only by an admin in Admin mode.

•  Students and parents can see complete attendance details when they login, including the dates and total number of absences and tardies for each class and grading period.


Admins use the page to check and enter attendance, clear absences, make corrections, etc. (Available only for group licenses.)

•  The main attendance page shows which teachers have taken roll and which have not yet for the selected date. Click any class to see and edit the roll sheet.

•  Click any student or use the "Find Student" text box to search for a student by name, partial name, or ID.

•  Click any attendance mark to switch between Present, Absent, and Tardy. Or click the legend on the right to select any attendance code.

•  When viewing the detail page for a single student, click a date column to select all the student's classes for that date, then click any attendance code in the legend, e.g., to mark them absent for all classes at once.

•  On the student detail page, the first two columns show how many times the student has been Absent and Tardy for the grading period selected in the menu (which is not necessarily the same as the weeks displayed on the page).

•  The page is where you customize the attendance codes and select which once can be used by teachers. Here is also where you set your school for daily or period attendance.

•  You can print an for any date if you want to use SnapGrades to collect attendance then manually input it into your SIS.

•  Students and parents can see complete attendance details when they login, including the dates and total number of absences and tardies for each class and grading period.
