There are three administrative attendance reports currently available: Attendance on Date lists all the students marked absent, tardy, etc. for any date. You can sort all students by name or ID, or group them by class/teacher. It does not list students who are marked present, or if roll has not been entered yet. This is useful if you want use SnapGrades just to collect attendance, then enter it manually into your Student Information System. (See also SIS Integration.) Individual Student Records show a complete record of each student's attendance for all days in the selected grading period, including the total number of days enrolled, present, absent, tardy, etc. Average Daily Attendance (ADA) is calculated by adding the number of days each student is marked present, then dividing by the number of instructional days. Instructional days are counted as any date where at least one teacher takes attendance. Future dates are not counted, so the ADA is accurate even in the middle of the year. For ADA calculations, students are counted as present even if they marked Tardy or Excused. For Daily attendance, only the Homeroom teacher's attendance is counted. If the Homeroom teacher is blank for the student on the page, then it counts any teacher's attendance (but if more than one teacher took roll for the same student on the same day, it counts only one of them at random).
For Period attendance, you define how many periods the student must be marked present to count as a full day or half day — e.g., at least 4 periods for a full day and at least 2 periods or a half day. |
