Gradebook & Admin Modes
SnapGrades has two separate modes with completely different tabs: Admin Mode is for principals, counselors, and office staff to look up student information and set schoolwide settings. Gradebook Mode is for teachers. (You don't need separate logins; both modes are accessible using the same login.) To switch modes, click the "Setup" tab and select "Go to Admin Mode" or "Go to Gradebook". By default, only the first person signed up at your school has access to Admin Mode, and all others are restricted, but you can change each person's permissions.
Homeroom Teachers in elementary grades: You should have gradebooks with only the subjects you grade yourself. If your students are graded by other teachers for certain subjects, like music or computers, or they exchange teachers for reading, math, etc., you should not have that in your own gradebook, as that would be redundant. You can see how your students are doing in other subjects by clicking the "Info" tab and selecting . Also the report cards automatically include the grades for all subjects.
Special Subjects Teachers, like elementary music, PE, and computers: You need your own gradebook to enter grades for your subjects, with a separate class tab for each group you teach, e.g., 2nd Grade Mrs. Jones, 3rd Grade Mr. Smith, etc. Your grades are automatically included on report cards, so you do not need to do anything to transfer your grades to the homeroom teachers.
Resource Teachers: You need you own gradebook even if you don't give grades. Your gradebook has a page designed just for you to easily look up your students' grades and homework, so you should not use Admin Mode to look up students. See Special Education for details.
Counselors, Principals, Office Staff: You need your own account to login, look up students, generate reports, etc. You'll use Admin Mode, not a gradebook. Your system admin must setup your account first.
Teachers' Aides: You do not need your own account. Instead you will use the teacher's username and a special password they assign to you. See TA Login.
